Mental healthcare <br/>begins with people

"I am convinced that my own experience as an expat helps me to understand and relate to difficulties experienced by the expat community ."

Meet our staff

Mental health care begins with people, which is why our most unique resource is our staff of caring and deeply-committed individuals. Some have travelled thousands of miles to enhance their training and education. Others are, besides their training, either expats themselves or from international families, and they want to use their experience and skills to help our clients.

Profession Psychologist
Ms Valentina Stoica is a psychologist at PsyQ International The Hague.
Ms Valentina Stoica started her journey as a psychologist in Romania, following an Experiential Psychotherapy master’s programme for children, adults and couples. Her curiosity regarding therapy’s mechanisms led her to move to The Netherlands where she followed a research masters in Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology at VU Amsterdam. These studies enabled her to gain a deeper insight into the prevention and treatment of mental disorders. For her internship she worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, US, investigating the effects of cognitive behavior therapy on depression. Her expertise includes working through creative expressive means with children, adolescents and adults on a variety of mental disorders ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma.  Living as an expat for several years has deepened her understanding of cultural differences and the challenges that the expat community face in order to thrive in another country. She is passionate about using art as a form of self-expression in her work and daily life.
