Ms. Cimen Ekici is a psychology intern at PsyQ International.

Originally from Ankara, Turkey, Çimen’s life as an expat began at the age of 10 when she moved to Jordan with her family and attended an international school. Returning to Turkey, she completed her BSc in Management and worked as an advertising executive for international companies. In 1998, she moved to the Netherlands with her husband and worked at several local and international advertising agencies in Amsterdam. Following a period of self-reflection, she decided to go back to university to study psychology. She obtained her BSc in Psychology via University of Derby’s online program and is currently studying for her MSc Clinical Psychology degree at Leiden University.
Çimen has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 2011 and since 2017 also guides mindfulness meditation group sessions at a local meditation centre. She has a keen interest in “third-wave” cognitive behavioural therapies which incorporate acceptance and mindfulness-based techniques. During her internship, she plans to gain as much clinical experience as she can across a range of psychological conditions to build a solid foundation for future clinical training and work. When not studying and meditating, she enjoys reading, yoga, walking in nature and jazz music.
